On your side of the table

Nothing about this coat was an accident.

07 Delivery day

Delivered

The cartons are in. Hangtags read right, the size run matches the order, the invoice matches the pro forma. We talked you through every call that got it here, so this morning is quiet.

We'd askWhat would you change before the reorder?

Inspected

Before the first carton is sealed, we'd draft the brief for whoever checks: which measurements matter, what counts as a defect, how many to pull and where. You decide what is acceptable before anyone has to argue it.

We'd askWhich three measurements decide whether this ships?

Sewn

There are factories that do this well and factories that say they do. We know which is which. We'd make the introduction, sit in on the first call, and name the terms to ask for before any deposit.

We'd askWho has sewn this exact construction before, and at what volume?

Cut

A pattern is cheap to change on paper, expensive in cloth. Before the first one, we'd read the tech pack line by line: seam allowances, grading, the fit model, what the sketch assumes and the cloth will refuse.

We'd askWho is the fit model, and who signs off the fit?

Sourced

This is where the collection becomes real. We'd pull five cloths and tell you which two, and why the hand matters more than the swatch. Then lab dips, trims, and the honest conversation about minimums.

We'd askWill the mill cut your quantity, at your price, in time?

Imagined

The best conversation we have. What is this, who buys it, what will they pay, and what has to be true for the margin to hold. We'd push back on the lookbook pieces and protect the ones that will sell.

We'd askWhich three pieces pay for the rest of the collection?

Yours starts with three questions.

About

The chair beside yours

There is a long distance between a beautiful idea and a product a customer can buy, and most of it is decisions. Blancouture exists to make those decisions with you. Decades in apparel, always on the brand's side of the table, through enough seasons to know which questions matter and when to ask them.

Working with us feels like having someone in the room who has done this before. We know the pattern makers, mills, trim suppliers, factories and forwarders worth your time, and we'd introduce you with a view on what to ask for. Every recommendation comes with the why. When something is a bad idea, we'd say so early, while it is still cheap.

  1. IThe cheapest moment to change your mind is before the cloth is cut.
  2. IIBeautiful is half the brief. A margin that holds is the other half.
  3. IIIThe right maker has made this exact thing before, at your volume.
  4. IVAn honest answer early costs less than a polite one late.
